Tap dance teachers are expected to inspire, mentor and  constantly give to their students.

As rewarding as the work is, giving so much often leaves you feeling drained, stale or uninspired.

That's why I'm offering Tap Dance Training just for teachers.

Take class with me every week so you can continue growing and have fresh inspiration for your students all season long.

Classes happen online, so you can join me from anywhere!

With all the different ages, skill levels, learning styles and personalities, teaching tap is a complex and ever changing job.

On top of that, there is usually no one else in your studio with tap expertise to look to for help.

I'm excited to share my years of teaching tap at studios, conventions and festivals with you. I can't wait to be your guide, cheerleader and community connector!

What You Get

Training for You

You get to be the student for a change! No planning or prep. You can just show up! Brush up on your skills, have fun dancing and learn new techniques. Work on musicality, precisionperformance.

Weekly Class Material

Each week, I take you through a new combo and show you how to adjust it for every age and skill level. This is designed for you to use in your studio classes right away. On top of that, we cover non-dancing skills to be an amazing teacher.

Tap Teacher Community

Be inspired by and learn from other tap teachers! At the end of each training session, we take time to connect, ask questions, talk about opportunities & challenges, and share what is working (or not) in your studio classes.

Who is this for?

Being a tap dance teacher might be the hardest job at a dance studio. Unless you're fortunate enough to have a studio owner who really believes in tap, it's easy to feel like you're the black sheep of the studio. It might even feel like other parts of the dance program get more attention, resources and support.

Even though some other styles (contemporary, hip hop, jazz, etc.) are a lot of students' favorites, I truly believe tap is an essential part of every dancer's foundational training. It's our job as tap teachers to build our students' timing, footwork and musicality in ways that no other style can.

But I don't want to just help you get better at teaching dance technique. I want to show you how to make your classes more fun and engaging so that more of your students look forward to them and opt in to advanced tap classes after they're no longer required to take tap.

If You Teach Tap, This is for You!

So, if you're a newer teacher looking to build a strong curriculum, this is a great program for you! If you're a more seasoned teacher looking for fresh inspiration, look no further! Lastly, if tap isn't your favorite, but it's fallen on you to teach it for your studio, this might just help you learn to love tap.

Classes are virtual, so you can join from wherever you are!

A Typical Week

Each week, we have an 75 minute-long group class together via video call.

We start with a warmup then get right into the Combo of the Week. This is a new combo every week. It has 2 purposes:
    1. To work on your personal tap skills.
    2. For you to use in your studio classes (if desired).

The Combo of the Week is taught in 3 different levels so that it is suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers. This makes it easy to use in any level of tap class you teach.

The Community You Need

I believe we all have something to learn from each other. We're stronger and wiser when we tell each other our stories and grow together.

So, we take time at the end of each class to share what's working well in our classes and what we're having a hard time with. We celebrate wins together and problem solve difficult situations.

We also take time to dig deeper talking about classroom management, structuring your season, advocating for the tap program at your studio, succeeding at competitions, and much more!

This changes week-to-week based on the stage of the season and what you are requesting.
