If you're a committed tap dancer, you know how hard it can be to find specialized training, personalized guidance, and a vibrant tap community.
That's why I've created the Tap Solo Mentorship program;
so you can have the experience every young tap dancer deserves.
The season-long program starts with solo choreography customized to your strengths, personality, & goals. For the rest of the season, we work together to grow your tap skills, polish your performance, and get you stage-ready. You also regularly meet with a small group of like-minded tap dancers to learn and grow together. Most of the program happens online, so you can be a part of it from anywhere around the country.

Tap Solo Choreography
Choreography can make or break your chances of winning a competition. The Tap Solo Mentorship starts with creating an amazing tap solo built around your strengths and goals as a performer.

Coaching & Training
Through coaching sessions, private lessons, & tap solo feedback, we put together a custom training and performance plan so you know what it will take to reach your full potential as a tap dancer.

Tap Soloist Community
Be inspired by other tap dancers working to win and grow! Every month, you join with my small group of tap soloists to train, learn, and discuss the opportunities & challenges of dance life.

Season Overview: Summer & Fall
JUNE: We jump right in with your TAP SOLO! We choose your song together, then begin choreography.
JULY-AUGUST: You practice the first part of your tap solo on your own.
SEPTEMBER: The full program begins. This includes Personal Assessments, meeting the other mentees, and working on Personalized Homework. (monthly payments begin)
OCT-DEC: We finish choreographing your Tap Solo, then you have monthly Private Lessons, Master Classes, Wild Card Classes, & Homework. Plus, there's also touch points for the parents & your first Coaching Session.

Season Overview: Winter & Spring
caTAPult: The new year starts with our Competition Prep Event. This event is all about putting the final touches on your solo & leveling up your performance skills. You can look at what we did at caTAPult 2025 here. It is at the beginning of January in DFW, TX. If unable to attend in-person, there's an online version.
JAN-APRIL: We continue polishing your solo through Private Lessons, Group Classes, & Personal Homework. Plus expand your tap skills through learning Historical Tap Repertoire. We also have Q&As with Industry Professionals to learn how to transfer what you're learning to future career opportunities. You have 2 more Coaching Sessions to continue moving you toward your personal goals.
END OF SEASON VIDEO PROJECT: We end the Mentorship Program by putting together a collaborative Video Project. Each mentee films part of their tap solo to be compiled into a themed tap video. This is a great way to celebrate the hard work and growth of all the mentees!

What Does It Take to Win?
As you've probably experienced, most people don't understand or fully appreciate what you do as a tap dancer. Even professional judges at competitions can struggle to give good feedback if they're not an expert tap dancer themselves.
I have been a competition judge for over 15 years and have literally judged over 50,000 competition dances. I've also had the chance to see how the dances I've choreographed scored at thousands of competitions. I will teach you what I've learned about what it takes for a tap solo to stand out and win against other, more popular styles.
It boils down to 3 things: compelling choreography, strong technique and a dynamic performance. When all 3 of those come together, you can blow away any audience. Unfortunately, most tap solos only succeed in 1 or 2 out of the 3.
I've designed my mentorship program specifically to ensure my tap soloists put all those pieces together to finish among the top dancers at any competition. Nearly all of my mentees win their category and place in the overalls by the end of the season.

But it's not ALL about winning...
Dance training can only take you so far. What has made me successful more than anything else is learning to be disciplined, to be a life-long learner, and to build up others around me. I want to pass that on to every one of my mentees.
That's why I've built coaching sessions, group trainings, & the tap soloist community into the program. I want to see my mentees grow as people just as much as dancers. I know that not all of my dancers will decide to pursue dance as a career. I want them to be ready for any opportunity in the field of their choice.
Over the course of the season, I will work with you to discover who you can become through the vessel of dance.
“Meghan has been able to help my daughter see the great qualities she has as a dancer while continuing to work on developing her skills and stage presence.
'Meghan is Magic' is the phrase we use in our house to describe working with her. I am always in awe of just how creative and talented she is as a teacher and choreographer. It has been such a wonderful experience for my daughter to train with Meghan.”

Looking for Even More?
The Mentorship Program is already a full experience, especially if you are regularly training with a local studio. However, for a tap dancer who wants to go all-in, I've created The Apprentice Program.
It includes everything in the Mentorship Program, plus much more! You get:
- Weekly private lessons
- 2 coaching sessions per month
- Bonus 1-on-1 Q&A with anyone in my professional network
- Unlimited check-in calls
- Free admission to ALL of my events & trainings for the year (including Tap on Location)
- Plus....
A Whole Season of Professional Training
This is where The Apprentice Program gets really interesting. I will create a curated dance training experience just for you. We'll take your dance goals & dreams and turn them into the program that you want. We'll spend hours together every month where I will teach you everything I know about the area of dance you most desire.
Want to become a dance teacher? I'll take you through my entire process of planning classes, engaging students, and navigating working for a studio. Want to be a professional performer? We'll spend the year pushing you to your full potential. I'll tell you everything I learned from living and working in L.A. for a decade. Want to work as a choreographer? I'll teach you my whole process for setting a piece, staging, & cleaning dances. Then we can choreograph together. Plus, you could learn what it takes to be a convention teacher/judge, or how to prepare to run your own dance business. It's up to you!
There will be opportunities to shadow me while I teach, choreograph, build my events, or anything else that fits with your goals. You will also have the chance to perform with other professional dancers in caTAPult and/or choreograph the group piece with me for the event. And yes, we can work it out to do this all online if you don't live in DFW, TX.
I know. It's a lot to take in. If you are interested in the program, select "Apprentice Program" when you fill out the form below. I will follow up to set up a call with you to discuss if you are a good fit.
I only plan to take 1 dancer for this program. And that's only if I truly believe you are a great fit AND will get an immense value.
